Organizational Citizenship Behavior in the Macao Service Sector: The Roles of Chinese Values, Leadership Behavior, and Perceived Organizational Support

 

Abstract:
The relationships between organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and Chinese values, leadership behavior and perceived organizational support (POS) were examined. Data were collected from 205 service employees in several hotels in Macao. Results showed that Chinese values, four types of leadership behavior (i.e., monitor, producer, consideration for others and trust in others), and POS are positively and significantly related to employees’ OCB. Regression analyses revealed producer, Chinese values, and POS to be significant predictors of OCB. Implications for management were discussed.
